Your code from DVLA will be valid for 21 Days and have a 72 hour expiry time The code can only be used ONCE.Drivers
The vehicle must NOT be driven by any other person than the hirer at any time unless approved by us in writing. Driver’s must be aged min 25 to max 75 yrs and held the Appropriate Licence for at least 2 years with no more than 6 PointsWhat you must bring with you
Each Driver will be required to provide:
1. Driving Licence 2. Credit /Debit Card for payment and a (Refundable £150.00 Deposit) ( Master card, Visa, Switch and Maestro). 3. Two proofs of I.D which must not be over 3 months old, such as bank statement, passport, council tax bill, utility bill 4. Licence check CODE from DVLA If you require us to assist you in obtaining the code on the day of hire we will require your National Insurance Number.Vehicle Deposit
We will charge a deposit of £150.00 per vehicle to ensure the safe return of our vehicle and with a full tank of fuel, this deposit is refundable on return of our vehicle should they be damage free and have a full tank of fuel upon return. It can take 3 to 5 working days for the refund to arrive in your bank or credit card account.

We are now required to check all UK licences online. To conduct this check, you will be required to provide us with a CODE which you can obtain from the government website click on box below:-

Frequently Asked Questions
What is included in the Hire Price?
The hire price includes the cost of hiring the vehicle for the agreed period. This includes
fully comprehensive insurance and UK breakdown cover as standard.
What do I need to hire a vehicle?
You will need to bring with you on the date of hire or call into our office prior to the hire date
with the following:
Your full driving licence. ( photo card licence)
The printout from the DVLA website. (See Below for details)
A Utility bill and Bank statement or 2 proofs of your current address (this must be dated within 30 days of the hire
date) confirming your current home and driving licence address,
Additional drivers must provide the same documentation as the principal driver including a DVLA printout for each
driver.
You can pay cash for the hire, but the Deposit must be on a credit/debit card.
Mileage Policy
All hire vehicles have an estimated daily mileage allowance included in the
hire cost if you exceed this estimated mileage you may be charged a fee
The daily mileage allowance is available at the time of booking (approx 350
miles per day) please confirm the details with our staff.
What is the minimum age to hire a vehicle?
All Drivers and additional Drivers must be aged a min 25 yrs to max 75 yrs
and have held a full driving license for at least 2 years
Can I have an additional driver?
You may add additional drivers to your hire agreement as long as they provide all the relevant
documentation as above
There is a charge for the additional drivers of £10.00 per day per driver.
What vehicles am I entitled to drive with my licence?
Category B
vehicles up to and including Luton Box Vans, (maximum 3500kgs GVW).
Category C1 vehicles up to and including 7.5 tonne trucks, (maximum 7500kgs GVW).
Category D1
Minibuses up to a maximum 16 passenger seats.
Category E
This will be tagged to another category that permits you to tow.
Can I hire a vehicle if I have penalty points on my licence?
All hire drivers must have held a full UK driving licence for a minimum of 2 years.
The Licence must be clean and had no convictions or endorsements
However we may accept licences with minor penalty points like speeding. This will be at the discretion of our
insurance provider and must be declared in advance of the hire date. Please be aware that an additional charge may
be applied depending on the number and nature of the endorsements on your licence
I do not hold a UK driving licence, can I still hire?
You will need to bring your EU driving licence showing your entitlements and your passport you also need 2 forms of
documentation to show your temporary address whilst staying in the UK.
Will I need to fill up with fuel when I return the vehicle?
All our vehicles will have a full tank of fuel when hired to you.
Upon returning the vehicle it is your responsibility to ensure that the tank is full. Failure to do this will result in us re-
filling the tank and charging you accordingly (the cost will be deducted from your deposit). Please note our fuel
charges are more than local petrol stations.
Will the hire rate stay the same if I return the vehicle early?
No refunds will be given for vehicles returned early or for the late collection of a vehicle.
When will my deposit be returned?
Your deposit must be made with a Credit/Debit card. The deposit amount will be held until the vehicle is returned and
checked for any additional damage or low fuel costs. Once we have done this we will refund your deposit, normally
within 3 working days depending on your Banks procedures.
The vehicle has broken down what should I do?
If you breakdown please contact us as soon as possible on our Emergency Phone Number and a member of staff
will take all the necessary details and contact our recovery service team on your behalf, or they will advise you of the
best solution to resolve your problem.
How do I obtain my Licence printout from the DVLA?
Simply log on free of charge to www.gov.uk/view-driving-licence
or click the link below
Here you can view and share your driving licence information you will need the following:
Your driver number (you can find this on your photocard Licence),National Insurance Number, and postcode (this
must be the same as the postcode on your driving licence).
You will need to click the option to share your driving licence information, this will allow you to generate a onetime
use check code, and this code will only be valid for 21 days to protect your information.
If you have any problems or are unable to provide us with the DVLA information our staff will be able to do this on
your behalf at the cost of £5.00.

Horizon Van Rental
Please ensure that you are happy with and fully understand all the information set out in this rental agreement.1 Your contract with us
When you sign you will accept the conditions set out in this agreement. If there is anything you do not understand or do not agree with, please ask any member of staff.2 Your responsibilities
• When collecting the vehicle it is your responsibility to inspect the vehicle inside and out for damage, whilst our staff will inspect the vehicle prior to your collection any damage not found and recorded on the pre hire inspection report could leave you responsible when returning the vehicle. • You are responsible for any damage caused to the vehicle by hitting low-level objects, such as low branches etc. • You must always lock the vehicle when you are not using it, the vehicle Keys are your responsibility • You must make sure that you use the correct fuel for the individual vehicle. • You must contact us as soon as possible if you become aware of a fault with the vehicle. • You agree to return the vehicle to us in the same condition in which you received it. If you return the vehicle to us outside our working hours, you will remain responsible for the vehicle and any parts or accessories provided until such time that the vehicle can be inspected by one of our staff. • You will be required to pay for any damage or repairs required to return the vehicle to its pre hire inspection report condition. This could include repair or replacement of any items supplied with the vehicle as stated on the pre-hire report. • Your hire vehicle may be fitted with a tracking device, when you sign the hire agreement you agree to allow us to collect and use any data collected during your vehicle hire period. • Certain items are not covered by insurance and are therefore chargeable to the hire in full i.e.: Windscreen damage, punctures or tyre damage, engine damage due to lack of oil, water or any other fluids, fuel contamination and interior damage including damage to seats. • You will be responsible and pay any penalties, fines and court costs incurred in the use of the vehicle before it is returned to us.3 Rental Periods
The vehicle will remain your responsibility and available for your use for the period stated on this rental agreement. The vehicle must be returned to the agreed location by the return date and time after which the following charges will apply: Up to 30 minutes after agreed time: £0.00, Over 30 minutes after agreed time: £25.00, Over 3 hrs after agreed time: a full day’s hire charge will apply. If you fail to return the vehicle to the agreed location you will pay the full cost of recovering the vehicle. If you wish to extend your hire period you must contact us as soon as possible, we cannot guarantee this due to vehicle availability; however we will extend your hire period if possible and adjust your hire charges accordingly.4 Cancellation of Hire
Once payment including Deposit has been made no refunds will be given, although with a minimum of 24 hrs notice Amendments may be possible which will incur a £10 administration charge.5 Our responsibilities
• When you hire a vehicle from us the vehicle will be roadworthy, fully maintained and in a suitable condition for hire as from the date and time stated on the rental agreement. • Any existing damage to the vehicle will be stated on the pre hire report and attached to the rental agreement. • We are responsible for losses you may suffer if we could have predicted your loss at the time this agreement was signed and as a result of our failure to act if the losses are a foreseeable consequence of us breaking this agreement. • We will not be responsible for any losses that occur which you or us could not have predicted when signing the hire agreement6 Conditions for using the vehicle
The vehicle must only be driven by the hirer or any other named person on the rental agreement or a person with our written permission to drive the vehicle. • Anyone driving the hire vehicle must have at least 2 years experience with a full driving licence valid for the type of vehicle on hire. • All drivers must be over the age of 25 to max 75 yrs and have no more than 6 points on their Driving Licence. • The vehicle must not be loaded over the manufacturer’s maximum weight recommendations, and all items should be loaded safely and securely. • Vehicles must not carry more passengers than legally allowed. • Not to be driven off road or on roads unsuitable for the type of vehicle • Must not be used for any illegal purposes or in a situation that may cause nuisance to others. • Vehicles are not to be used for driving instructions, to push another vehicle, test the vehicles speed, or any sort of vehicle competition. • Not to be used for towing another vehicle, trailer or any other object without our written permission.7 Your Property
You are responsible for removing any personal belongings from the vehicle at the end of your rental period. We cannot be held responsible for any items you leave in the vehicle although if we do find any items we will keep them if possible for you to collect within 14 days.8 In the case of an accident or the vehicle is stolen
If the vehicle is involved In an accident during the term of the Rental you must not admit that you are responsible, and should contact our office as soon as possible. You should also • Notify Police immediately if people are injured. • Obtain the names and addresses including vehicle details of all parties involved. • Obtain the names and addresses of any witnesses. • Not leave the vehicle unattended without first securing it. • You will be required to complete an accident claim report including diagram as soon as possible as per insurance requirements.9 Fixed Penalties etc.
You will be liable as the owner of the vehicle in respect of: • Any fixed penalty offence committed in respect of that vehicle under part 111 and the relevant schedules of the Road Traffic Offenders Act 1988 as amended by the Parking Act 1989 and as those provisions may be amended or replaced from time to time: • Any excess charge which may be incurred in respect of the vehicle in pursuance of an order under Sections 45 and 46 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended by the Road Traffic Offenders Act 1988 and the Parking Act 1989 and as those provisions may be amended or replaced from time to time. • Any financial penalty or charge which may be demanded by any person, Corporation or Authority as a result of the vehicle being parked or left upon land which is not a public road. 10 Other Costs (not covered above) All hire vehicles have an estimated daily mileage allowance included in the hire cost if you exceed this estimated mileage you may be charged a fee. The daily mileage allowance is available at the time of booking (approx 350 miles per day) please confirm the details with our staff. An administration fee of £20 will be applied to all motoring offences received. Insurance excess charge currently standing at £800.00 minimum, this may be increased depending on hirer’s criteria and will be taken in all cases. Fuel shortages will be charged at a minimum of £10 +VAT anything above this will be set at rates specified by Horizon.Horizon Van Hire
It is important that you read and understand the terms and conditions that apply to this contract before you sign. By signing you also confirm that if you pay with the payment card shown on this form, you give us permission to take the total amount you owe. We will charge a deposit to ensure the safe return of our vehicles and for a full tank of fuel, these deposits are refundable on return of our vehicle should they be damage free and have a full tank of fuel returned. It can take 3 to 5 working days for the refund to arrive in your bank or credit card account. Deposits per vehicle: £150 for vans Insurance: We provide basic cover for our vehicles and the excess for damage is £800, the items listed below are NOT covered by insurance and are the responsibility of the hirer.Windscreens and Mirrors (some examples include: chip; crack) • Body damage above windscreen height (hitting low-level objects, such as low branches etc). • Damage to wheels and tyres (some examples include: punctures; loss of wheel trims) • Interior Damage/Burns/Stains etc. • All costs incurred to repair the vehicle if incorrect fuel is used. NB The hirer is responsible for the damage repair amount up to the value of the compulsory excess of £800, in respect of each and every incident involving the hired vehicle.
